In February of 1969, through an idea of both brothers Pedro and Celso Ramos, Tapevel Tapestry Cascavel Ltd was born, created to reform interior of vehicles, inside of doors, seats, roof, car mats, carpets and high & soft tonneau covers for jeeps.

In 1989, the Cunha Castro family took over the control of the company with the purpose of renewing and enlarging the offer of products and services.

NBR/ ISO 9001:2000 certificated
- Creation of stock for a branch in Rio de Janeiro.
- First export to Argentina.
- Opening of a new branch in Brasilia/DF.
- First export to Uruguay.
- Launching of TAPEVEL’s Magazine, with own manufactured products, TECNYL STC’s and leaders brands of accessories conquered to be distributed.

2001
First exhibition in Automec (major accessories fair of Brazil)
2002
Development of TECNYL STC to supply Mitsubishi as original equipment (OE).
- Acquisition of a ground area with more than 11.000m2 to build a new industrial unit in Cascavel/PR.
- TECNYL STC’s registered patent issued by INPI.
- Opening of the fourth branch in Curitiba/PR.
- Start up of project for a Flat TECNYL STC to supply GM as OE.
2003

Flat TECNYL STC project is approved by GM.
- Acquisition and installation of equipment and system for electrostatic painting cabin.
- New working space is gained in factory, to be approved by GM.
- Conception of TECNYL Steel STC and TECNYL aluminum sidestep.
- Shipped to GM US a new vehicle (Montana/Tornado/Opel Corsa Utility) with TECNYL Flat STC to be tested.
- New exhibition in Automec Fair in São Paulo, presenting new products.
- Market research is conducted to explore South African and Mexican markets.
- Direct supply to GM process started.
- Visit to Sema Show in Las Vegas, USA.

2004

Acquisition of eccentric press of 25tons. New layout for administration in Unit I. Manufacture of multiple drilling machines II and III. New moving racks to supply the mounting area with raw material and finished parts, avoiding transit between the operators within others areas.
- Conquest for develop a new roof rack for GM Celta and Prisma, execution of production of sport pedal covers for the same vehicles.
- Acquisition of an Himaco injecting machine.
- Acquisition of a Pema Automatika chain saw for aluminum.
- First time to attend to an international fair, Expo Rujac, Guadalaraja, Mexico.
- Monthly production of STC reaches 4500 units.
- Acquisition of a tarp cutting table. Acquisition of 5 tanks for surface treatment of aluminum.

2005

Unit II built phase for stock of finished products is concluded.
- Approved to supply VW and Fiat, by each company.
- Tooling process for Fiat’s roof bars and GM’s roof racks projects is started.
- Start up of process to supply roof racks for Celta’s GM car.
- Start up of process to build an unit for sewage treatment in factory.
- Exports of TECNYL STC as OE to GM Argentina, Colombia, Equator, Chili, Uruguay, Mexico and Venezuela.
- Start up of process to enlarge a store in Unit II to stock finished products, with an acquisition of a 2,5 fork lift moved with gas.

2006

Conclusion of the store area with 250m2.
- Acquisition of a ground area for a new industrial unit in Cabreuva/SP.
- Tooling process for Fiat’s roof bars and GM’s roof racks projects is finished.
- Acquisition of a mixer and feeder for the injection machine and a CNC aluminum rails cutting machine.
- Ground leveling process is allowed by local authorities and it’s started in Cabreuva/SP.
- Celta’s and Prisma’s roof racks are launched into market by GM.
- ISO TS 16949:2002 certificated.
- QSB (Quality System Basics) certificated.
- Ground base for the new industrial unit process is finished.

2007
Start up to build the foundations of the new industrial unit.
- Grille protection for the Corsa
- Conquest of a new project to develop roof racks for GM’s 4200, 4300 and Viva- Engineering and design departments are moved from Cascavel/PR to the new industrial unit in Cabreuva/SP
- Unigraphics courses are installed for the new members of the Engineering team.
2008

Conquest of new project of a grille and roof rack for GM’s Viva vehicle and Viva pick up.
- Stock transfer from Curitiba to São Paulo branch, to be the hub of distribution and customer care for the aftermarket.
- CEO moved from Cascavel/PR to new industrial unit in Cabreuva/SP.

2009

Start up of industrial operations in Cabreuva/SP on January.
- Enviromental license in the new industrial unit is obtained.
